You Know You’re in the Flow When…

Recently I watched a video where a guy was saying that the best way to find out what you’re really passionate about is simply to observe what you love doing, what makes you happy and what brings you the most joy. That’s called “good feedback”.

It’s also known as being in the flow.

Have you felt that flow recently?

I had a “triple flow” weekend, if there is such a thing. On Saturday I got to put the finishing touches on a CD of piano music I had been recording and producing for one of my piano students. He is only 9 years old and is already on his second CD!

Sunday morning I got to perform one of my original songs with the help of some amazing singers at church. I have a link to a video of that performance at the end of this email.

To top it all off, I spent Sunday afternoon in the studio laying down guitar tracks for Jerome “JC” Collins’ new album. What an absolute blast that was! Working in the studio just felt like home to me.

I share all of this to say that, when you’re in the flow, you know it. You feel it. Time just seems to fly by. I don’t think being in the flow should be a one-in-a-while kind of a thing. I am striving for more flow in my life. I want to inspire as many others to do the same – to find their flow.

I sometimes get the feeling that people might think that being in this kind of flow only happens to people who are lucky, or it is a pipe dream…or wishful thinking.

I don’t think so. I think we all have an opportunity…almost a responsibility, to bring more flow into our lives.

What do you think? I’d love to hear your thoughts…right after you enjoy this video…
