Do You Need to Declutter?

It’s that time of year again! Today is the first official day of Spring. Happy Vernal Equinox!

That means it’s time for…Spring cleaning!

This past Friday I did a Pederscope broadcast [ https://stevepederson.com/declutter/ ] where I talked about the opportunity to declutter our lives a bit.

I then took advantage of the weekend to do some decluttering, as did Stephanie.

What I discovered is that…it is both very challenging and very refreshing to declutter!

While Stephanie cleaned out the hall closet and one of the kitchen cupboards, I went through my bookshelves. I got rid of a bunch of old books – most of which I took to Half Price Books and got thirteen dollars for!

The toughest to let go were a couple of books that are now completely outdated and useless, but have had a lot of sentimental value to me. One is the book I first learned HTML from, and the other marks a similar important milestone in my web development career…

Ah, parting is such sweet, but necessary, sorrow.

Another word you can use, instead of declutter, is prune. Pruning is for getting rid of the stuff that is no longer serving you so you can bring in more of the stuff that will serve you.

Will you take the challenge to prune and declutter this spring?

Happy Spring Cleaning!
